July 2026: The Inquiry opened on Wednesday 8 July at the IDRC in London. The Inquiry will next sit on Tuesday 8 September 2026.
June 2026: The opening hearing of Phase 2 of the Inquiry will take place on Wednesday 8 July 2026 at the International Dispute Resolution Centre in St Paul’s, London.
The hearing will comprise of the Chair’s opening for Phase 2 and an introductory opening statement by Counsel to the Inquiry. The main hearings will start in September 2026.

May 2026: The Inquiry has opened applications for core participant status for Phase 2 of the Inquiry. The relevant documents can be found here and here. Applications opened on the 1 May and will close at 4pm on 15 May.
April 2026: The Inquiry published its Phase 1 report on 13 April 2026 at Liverpool Town Hall. The report can be found here. Phase 2 began immediately following this.
Details for applications for core participant status for Phase 2 and proposed hearing dates will be published on this website in due course.
February 2026: The Inquiry will publish the Phase 1 report at midday on 13 April 2026. A publication event will take place on that date at Liverpool Town Hall.
December 2025: The Inquiry concluded oral hearings on 6 November 2025. The Chair’s closing remarks can be viewed here:
